We are pleased to be participating in the upcoming Autism Resource Conference presented by the City of El Monte on Saturday, April 14th from 10 am – 1 pm.
In support of Autism Awareness Month, the City of El Monte will continue to provide regional support by hosting its 3rd annual Autism Resource Conference on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The FREE community event will feature a keynote presentation from a leading advocate, activities for children, giveaways and a resource fair offering access to health and wellness professionals.
To kick off the event, Hector Ochoa, an advocate for people with disabilities will present the keynote address. As a member of the Los Angeles County Commission on Disabilities, Mr. Ochoa ensures that the voice of the disability community is continuously heard.
Following the keynote address, families will be able to enjoy activities from balloon and face paint artists. Additionally, families may receive a copy of Sesame Street’s “We’re Amazing 1,2,3,” a children’s book focusing on a character who has autism, while supplies last.
Finally, families will have access to a resource fair featuring local vendors with resources to assist families. In addition to CBC Education and our sister agency, Familias First, other featured vendors include Southern California Resource Services – Independent Living, an organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities; University of Southern California Office of Dentistry; and Lakeshore, an educational supply store.
This is a free event for the community.
