The theme in our Social Skills Program this month is Our Choices Impact Us and Others.
Decision-making is an essential component of social interactions. It involves analyzing situations, considering various options, and choosing the most appropriate course of action. Effective decision-making enables students to make responsible choices, resolve conflicts, and understand the consequences of their actions.
Social decision-making refers to the process of making choices in social situations based on consideration of others’ feelings, thoughts, and perspectives. It involves several components, including problem identification, generating options, evaluating consequences, and selecting the best course of action.
Sample Activities:
Social Behavior Mapping helps our clients understand the social emotional chain reaction and to reflect on social expectations by completing a social behavior map with the therapist. Relatable characters and situations help clients connect with the content on a personal level.
Should I or Shouldn’t I Game for Teens : The therapist will use this highly engaging game to stimulate peer-based discussions regarding a wide array of teen-friendly social situations that engage students in social problem solving.
