The March theme our Social Skills team is focusing on is Kindness is our Lucky Charm! We will look at how positive actions and consideration of others can bring happiness and a sense of well being.
A few sample activities are:
The Difference between Kindness and Nice
We will create a poster with two columns (Kind and Nice). Clients will write suggestions and place them in the column they think they belong.
Nice: Doing what is expected to please those around you.
Kind: Showing empathy and being willing to stand up for what is right.
Kindness Clover
Create a kindness clover with each leaf representing a different action to perform, such as giving a compliment or sharing with a peer.
Rainbow of Kindness
Use rainbow imagery to represent different ways to show kindness, such as saying nice words, helping others or including everyone.
These are just a few examples of activities we will be working on with clients this month. We are also celebrating our March Spirit Day on St. Patrick’s Day and we encourage staff and clients to wear green to celebrate and have fun!
