Reflection and Growth

Happy New Year! Our theme in the Social Skills program this month is Reflection and Growth.

As the new year begins, we reflect on the previous year and use what we have learned to continue growing and set new goals for 2025. We will assist our clients in learning how use a growth mindset to work towards their own goals. To that end, we embrace challenges, we learn from feedback, we give our best effort, and we grow from our hard work.

Sample activities we will be working on in January:

New Year’s Vision Board

We will encourage our clients to think about their goals, dreams and aspirations to create their own vision board. This activity combines creativity with self-reflection and helps students visualize their future.

This Year I Will

We will talk about the history of making New Year’s Resolutions (dating back thousands of years) and how they have evolved over time. Previously, the goals were more practical and these days it is more about self-improvement.

Here are a few questions for clients to think about and answer:
• One thing they want to become better at
• One bad habit they would like to break
• One way that they could be kinder

These are just a couple of examples of what we will be focusing on this month.

We have witnessed incredible growth, meaningful achievements and countless moments of perseverance and success. Together, we are fostering a culture of empowerment, education and opportunity that continues to make a positive impact.
