The theme this month in our Social Skills Training Program celebrates the beginning of summer with fun activities.
Sample of June Activities for Parents:
Targeted Skills: Following directions | cooperative play | communication skills
- DIY Angry birds knock down game. Visit Lalymom for details.
- Frozen Treasure Find. This activity requires prep time, but it’s a lot of fun for the kids. Visit Frozen Treasure Find for details.
- Nature Scavenger Hunt. Visit Stay at Home Mum for printouts.
- Have a picnic to celebrate International Picnic Day on June 18th! Grab a group of close friends and some food, and you’re well on your way to a great time. To many, a picnic isn’t complete without some sort of activity to play in-between enjoying food. With something as simple as a frisbee or as elaborate as a scavenger hunt, it’s easy to create lasting memories at any picnic.
We will also be working with our clients to celebrate National Friendship Day on June 8th. The kids invite friends to play, call them and spark a conversation on topics of their choice. Be a social detective and find out what they like.
June is also a time when we celebrate Father’s Day which is on June 20th this year. We encourage the kids to be sure to let their dad know how much he means to them. Give dad a compliment or write him a thank you note.
From all of us at CBC Education, have a very happy Father’s Day!
