DEVELOPMENTAL SPECIALIST

Do you have a passion for helping children and families? We are currently looking for qualified applicants interested in working with children with disabilities in the area of Play and Social Skills. The candidate should be enthusiastic, creative and passionate.

Job duties include:

• Teach play, communication and social skills to children in the home, center or community
• Teach and educate parents
• Implement individualized programs
• Work with the children and families
• Collect data on the child’s progress

We provide training in DIR/Floortime and supervision for staff. Candidates will also be CPR-certified and receive Crisis Prevention training.

We serve the following areas: Los Angeles areas (ELA, Highland Park, El Sereno, Boyle Heights) & San Gabriel Valley, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, El Monte, Baldwin Park, La Puente, Azusa, Covina, Rowland Heights, Pomona).

CBC Education, Inc. provides Behavior Intervention, DIR/Floortime and Social skills Training to children with autism and other developmental delays. We serve children and adolescents ages 18 months to 18 years old. Over ninety percent of our team is bilingual – the most common second languages being Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese. Services are designed to empower the family with knowledge and effective strategies to support positive behavioral and socio-emotional development.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in Psychology or related field preferred
1 year experience working with children
Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese)
Must have great people skills
Quick problem solver
Team player
Reliable transportation, with proof of insurance
Computer with webcam & Internet Access

Pass criminal background check
TB test clearance
Be available a minimum of 15 hours per week (between 2 pm – 7 pm Mon. – Fri. & 8 am – 5 pm Saturdays)
