Halloween Activities at CBC Education

It’s getting close to Halloween! We had great fun with our clients, parents and staff last year and excited to get started again this year.

Beginning Monday, October 23rd through Halloween day, we will be working with clients to prepare for Halloween, learn what to expect and go through a variety of different scenarios. Each therapy room will feature different Halloween-themed activities.

Trick-or-Treating with our clients around our office will promote a variety of skills including; eye contact, greetings, turn taking, waiting, initiating conversations, flexibility, how to respond appropriately, reading cues, etc.  Here are some of the scenarios we cover in our pretend trick-or-treating:

      • What if your client gets scared of someone else’s costume?
      • What if your client is afraid of the dark, what are some options?
      • What if it is a scary house and someone one jumps out all of a sudden?
      • What if your client wants to keep trick-or-treating?
      • What if the lights are turned off?
      • What if no one answers the door?
      • What if there are no more goodies?
      • What if the person invites your client inside the house?

Additionally, other scenarios that we may run through include the following.

      • Passing out goodies
      • Clients can say “Go away!”
      • Be someone who scares the trick-or-treaters
      • Has the lights turned off
      • Pretend not to be home

The activities will be chosen together by the client and therapist to see what is the best fit.

Here’s a checklist for you to have on hand for your Halloween fun at home.
