Love and Friendship

Our Social Skills Training Program will focus their attention on Love and Friendship this month. Valentine’s Day brings attention to the importance of being friendly, kind and empathetic.

Here are a few family activities you may enjoy.

Family Valentine Date at Home

These evenings are often most fun for younger children when they help plan it. Common activities include candle-lit dinners, family games, movies, etc.

Host a Family Game Night

Turn off technology and have a traditional game night with cards, board games or any similar fun game your family would enjoy. These games don’t have to be educational in nature; research shows that cards, board games, and other similar activities can help children develop critical thinking, strategy and social skills.

Become a Secret Valentine

With the help your family, think of someone they enjoy being around and secretly perform an act of service for this individual. This could be a family-member, friend, neighbor, etc. Random acts of kindness are wonderful at any time, but especially fun for Valentine’s Day.

Floortime Program Theme:

February’s theme will be “Art from the Heart.” Our clients will be supported by the Floortime Specialists to prepare for Valentine’s Day and what it means to be a good friend. There will be an opportunity for the clients at the center to participate by placing their art on our bulletin board as well as participate in our virtual event which will be held on February 10th. To participate in the event, please contact your Case Manager.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Valentine’s Day from our CBC family to yours!
