Thinking of Others

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, I am so Lucky to have a MOM (or Friend) Like you! Our Social  Skills Program is focusing on Thinking of Others during the month  of May.

Targeted Skills:  Perspective Taking, Emotions, Social Awareness, Communication Skills.

Examples of Activities:

For the Love of Mom/Dad

We will help our client brainstorm ideas about what they think their mom or dad might want as a gift for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. What do his/her parents like and what makes them happy. This helps the client practice thinking of what others like and that we all have personal preferences and like to be thought about by others.

Queen or King For the Day

We will help our client make a card letting mom/dad know how much he/she appreciates them and all they do. Assist the child think of things he/she can do throughout the day that would make them happy, such as getting them a cup of tea or bringing them breakfast in bed, cleaning their room without being told, etc.

Thoughtful Words

Will will assist our client in making a card for someone special and write something nice or thank the person for all they do.

We look forward to celebrating Mother’s Day this month. A very special thank you to all the amazing moms and grandmas!
