Protocol for Coronavirus – COVID-19

To Parents and Families

CBC Education has taken precautions due to the growing spread of the Coronavirus, which is transmitted from person to person when coughing or sneezing near a person who is less than 6 feet away from you. For more information, visit the CDC.gov website.

Because of this, we have put specific practices in place to keep your family member safe by preventing the spread of the virus. The following are some measures that we have taken:

• Reviewing with staff the current policies and procedures that promote a clean and safe working environment.
• Having our staff wash their hands throughout the day.
• Disinfecting surfaces and common areas on a daily basis.
• Cleaning items used by clients at our center at the end of each session.
• Increasing the frequency in which our center is cleaned by custodial staff.
• Asking your family member to wash their hands with soap and water before and after sessions.
• Using hand sanitizer when moving from one therapy room to the other.
• Keeping the center at a colder temperature as bacteria does not grow in colder climates.
• Installing additional hand sanitizer dispensers in each therapy room and in common areas.
• Purchasing anti-bacterial cleaning products or similar products by bulk to meet the increased needs.

We also ask your cooperation in keeping the center COVID-19 free. Individuals (clients or family members) who show symptoms associated with the Coronavirus will be asked to go home.

Other measures you can take are:

• Stay home if there are any signs of fever, shortness of breath, coughing, sneezing, and runny.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after the session at our center.
• Cover a cough or sneeze by using a sleeve or tissue.
• Do not touch the eyes, nose and mouth areas.

We appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our offices or the Case Manager assigned to your case.
